John worked so hard to get us to the airport early, but that was the least of our problems. At about 2:30pm yesterday we get a call from American Airlines our flight has been cancelled to Chicago. Great right!! We were supposes to fly from Chicago to London then London to Rome. So John got on the phone to try and figure out what was going on. So all flights out of Tulsa to Chicago were cancelled!! Fortunately the lady that helped us was able to get is on a flight first thing Sunday morning. The downside to that was that we wouldn't get into Rome until Monday morning and we would miss our Vatican tour. Also we had to rent a car and drive to Bentonville Arkansas, the walmart roots.
So we finally got a car and got home and slept for a grand total of 3 hours, then got on the road for Arkansas. It took us roughly 2.5 hours to get there. By the way the airport is in the middle of no where lol!!! So we checked in and finally got on our flight to Chicago!!! We arrived in Chicago around 10 am, and went to wait on our flight to New York. Then the New York flight got delayed until 3pm!!! Our flight to Rome was supposed to leave at 5:45 pm. So the best husband in the world got on the ball again!! Poor guy he's so sweet he has taken care of everything!! He drove us to arkansas and has been dealing with all the airline people. My job has only been to watch our carryons and try to stay positive!!
So John got us on a flight that leaves straight from Chicago to Madrid and then Madrid to Rome!! Now I am sitting with the luggage at the gate we are supposed to leave out of, while John went out through security to check us in and get boarding passes because it's a different airline than American. He also made sure or checked bag got transferred to the right plane. He also got our tours changed an we get to stay another day. He is also trying to sweet talk his way into first class for us!! He got us first class coming back from Rome. He also took care of our hotel reservations so that we can check in on Monday and leave Saturday.
Even if something else happens and we don't make it to Rome I have had the best time with John just hanging out with eachother!! If nothing else I have a greater appreciation for my hubby!!! He is the best ever!!! Now I'm going to have to best positive attitude ever and we will totally get to Rome even I'd I have to swim the Atlantic to get there!!!!!

Valentine's Day Weekend

So since Valentine's Day was on a Sunday this year, John and I celebrated on Friday, Saturday and Monday!
FRIDAY: I made funfetti cupcakes with chocolate icing and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing for work! John sent me the most beautiful flowers at work. He knows my favorite are daises and roses. He got creative and told the florist only four roses. He later told me the four roses were for all the Valentines we have spent together. While I thought that this was incredibly sweet one of the Resident doctors in our clinic (who gives me a hard time daily) said and I quote, "Oh Sarah he's a guy. He wants you think he's being romantic when in actuality it's cheaper to only buy four roses instead of a dozen." This comment came from the guy who hadn't gotten his girlfriend flowers yet because "they die anyway" Haha. I thought my flowers were wonderful despite the comments :)
SATURDAY: Saturday started with a lazy day of sleeping in!! Then we went to Owasso for John's baby sister's last basketball game of the season. It was an intense game!! At one point I think I may have said the ref needed new glasses because he couldn't see. I'm not normally so outspoken toward the refs but even John the calm one in our relationship got so ticked he stood up and yelled. I in turn had to pull him back to his seat hehehe. After the game we went on a date. The date consisted of walking around the mall, dinner and a movie. John suprised me with a visit to the fossil store where my valentine's gift was a new watch!! Then we went and saw the movie Valentine's Day (which was cute in my opinion). John of course refused to let me get him anything for Vday.
Before our date we went home to change and visited with my oldest sister Steph and her husband Chris, who were babysitting my other sister, Nat, children. Well all of John's army equipment was in the living room still from drill. Chris seeing all the equipment of course couldn't resist putting it on. I might add that John is like a head or so taller than Chris so John's stuff was a little big. Abby (the newest baby in the fam) and I were so tuckered out from watching we had to take a nap. Needless to say there are some great pics from John and Chris' adventure!!
MONDAY:I had the day off from work since it was President's Day which was awesome!! We slept in and I snuck off to the mall to get John a gift. He had pointed out a couple of shirts he liked in the fossil store so that's what he got for his Vday gift.
All in all it was a great weekend and I had alot of fun spending so much time with John and playing with all my nieces and nephews!!!
